The artworks in this collection are a constant and continuous metaphor, one that can be described as stimulating and provocative. Everything that grows in the vast expanse of nature becomes barren: born once, it is raised and from then on becomes sterile and heads towards drying up. The mentioned process is the same stimulating, constant, and dynamic metaphor that compels the artist to reprint, record, and document the barren in order to reassign meaning. Everything that is recorded and named in the process of becoming art is a transformation and alteration of an external and natural reality: however, it is this visual and imaginative language that finds new meaning in every situation, and therefore it is the context of the work and the situation that creates meaning. The result of the present collection is a reinterpretation through the fixation of flowers and plants that have become barren and sterile in their real life, and now in the artist's imaginative life and within the framework of the art object, they have found a new meaning and are considered fertile and dynamic.

آثار این مجموعه استعاره ای مدام و مداوم است، استعاره ای که می توان محرک و برانگیزاننده خواندش، هر آنچه در پهنۀ واقعی طبیعت می روید سترون می شود: یک بار زائیده شده، برافراشته می شود و از آن پس سترون شده و به سوی خشک شدن می گراید. روند گفته شده همان استعارۀ محرک، مدام و پویایی است که موجب می شود هنرمند، سترون شده ها را برای بازمعنادهی بار دیگر چاپ و ثبت و ضبط نماید. هر آنچه در فرآیند هنری شدگی ثبت شده و نامی بر آن نهاده شود، استحاله و تغییر واقعیتی بیرونی و طبیعی است: اما این زبان تصویری و تخیلی است که در هر موقعیت، معنایی تازه یافته و لذا این بافت اثر و موقعیت است که معناسازی می نماید. حاصل مجموعۀ پیش رو بازمعناسازی از طریق ثبوت گل ها و گیاهانی است که در زیست حقیقی شان سترون شده و اکنون در زیست تخیلی هنرمند و در بستر ابژۀ هنری، معنایی دیگر یافته و بارور و پویا محسوب می شوند

The question about the curator has been raised in contemporary art for more than three decades, and it can be considered as a mediation structure between the artist's language and the artistic space. In Iran, curatorial projects have been going on in the artistic space for years. In line with these projects, one of the artist-curators who has been working for almost a decade is Babak Haghi. During the past years, in addition to solo exhibitions, he has also had some experiences in curating print and photo exhibitions. Among his most recent projects is a project called Barren, the foundation and initial idea of which was formed in Kashan during the artist's summer stay in this city and extended to the Barren exhibition in Mojdeh Art Gallery in September 2024. His curatorial method in the Barren exhibition was based on paying attention to the initial idea, which is the sterilization and regrowth of plants, choosing artists and posing questions to them, and trying to problematize the image. The statement of the exhibition was also about the semantic paths taken in the project, to express Barrens, and it was a display of the combination of verbal and visual expression side by side.
